There are different types of plastic hoses:
- hose completely made of plastic
- plastic hose in metal hose
- plastic hose with braid(s)
Fittings are usually made of stainless steel, with adequate plastic material inside.

An appropriate plastic material for hoses is PTFE (Teflon).

Characteristics of PTFE:
- temperature range: -70°C up to + 260°C
- high chemical resistance 
- UV-resistant
- no ageing 
- non-adhesive
- small friction coefficient
- excellent insulation characteristics
- low dielectric constant
